About Us

Who we are!

The Company

With Best Bus Tours you’ll experience Magnetic island through the eyes of a local.

We offers a relaxed tour of our beautiful Island in air-conditioned comfort. You’ll get to experience the island through the eyes of a local, learn about its history, geography wildlife and folklore. You’ll soon know why so many are attracted to Magnetic Island.

Our tour has been developed from the combined knowledge of over 40 years of experience of visiting and living on ‘Maggie’.  Whether it’s a story about Henry Butler our first settler, or finding the best spot just to sit back and relax and slip into ‘island time, we love to share our island and show you only not only the picture postcard perfect spots, but also those secret spots that only locals know about.

Our Bus

We tour in an air-conditioned Mitsubishi Rosa Deluxe that has been specially adapted to carry a wheelchair. We can accommodate 21 seated passengers or 17+ 1 Motorised Wheelchair or 17+2 standard wheelchairs.

The high seating position of the Rosa, combined with large windows provides a spectacular view of the island and the surrounds. You will truly experience the majesty of the island’s towering granite, hoop pines, and sandy beaches

Why choose us?

Who We Are

We are a family owned business that provides small group bus tours of our beautiful home base, Magnetic Island. Or as the locals call it, ‘Maggie’.

Uniquely Australian

Where else in the world could you spot wild Koalas and wallabies in the morning, tuck into world class fresh seafood for lunch and end the day with a snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park?

With over 320 days of sunshine a year you will rarely be disappointed.

What We Do

Whilst we have a standard tour we are happy to create private tours and customise itineraries.  On our tour you’ll enjoy some great folklore, not found in books! Learn what it is like to live on an island. Hear an evocative description of how life was up on The Forts and its recognition as an important site in our military history.

Learn about the endangered GIANT CLAMS, up close and personal. Go to places some locals don’t even know! Visit where different wildlife lives, behaves and interacts with people. Hear about local WWII history, how the Island was named, basic geology, marine biology, climate and our emotion-filled Dawn Service on ANZAC Day.
